Modularity

One of the reasons I like the Jääkäri product family a lot is that the backpacks are covered with PALS to allow all kind of pouches and hooks and anything to be attached easily to the backpack. With suitable pouches attached you could use this instead of, or in conjunction with, a small daypack.

MILITARY GRADE MATERIALS

The majority of materials we use for our commercial production are the same which we use in equipment for the Finnish Defence Forces and other defence and security clients.

JÄÄKÄRI L

The larger multi-day pack of the Jääkäri family, capacity approx. The webbing and edge tape we use are, again as per FDF specs, strong polyester webbing in various widths and thicknesses for different applications.

Our green and M05 camouflage materials and accessories are by default compliant with strict FDF specs for NIR reflection levels, as should be since these same materials are used in official military equipment.

CARRYING SYSTEM

An internal tubular aluminium frame keeps the pack from sagging and transfers the pack weight onto your hips even when loaded down with heavy and cumbersome cargo.

Both the shoulder harness and hip belt are generously padded with thermoformed closed cell foam padding.

Sure it might cost a pretty penny but think of it as an investment in your future adventures. But when I got the backpack, it didn't actually feel that much smaller. The chest strap position can be adjusted too, which is a really good feature especially for women.

Features like adjustable straps and modular attachment points come standard, boosting your gear’s versatility. I have just taken my camera from inside, so the top part looks a bit loose, but when packed normally it is tight.

Size

I was really worried about the size in paper, as it said 55 liters, overpacked 60 liters. I remember my time in the field, rucking with my gear, praying my pack wouldn’t give up on me.

I have the newer version of the backpack where Savotta has made the hipbelt slightly smaller to fit slimmer people better. By opening up the divider the main bag is turned into one large cavernous space. Plus, the layout is smart.
